The Song Room have continued their fantastic work with our students and staff this year. Throughout the program, students have explored rhythm, singing, movement and instrumental music while working alongside experienced teaching artists.

The Junior School visited Scienceworks to experience what they had been investigating during Integrated Studies sessions.
Environment Day was a resounding success at Darrang PS. Dress ups, gardening, stories and poems were the feature of the day. Students enjoyed the hands on learning activities during the day.
Our junior school visited the RSPCA educational facility in Burwood last week. They worked through several rotations on the day including taking care of dogs and cats, learning about the role of the RSPCA in our community, hand-fed farm animals including chickens, roosters and sheep.

Cross Country event was a resounding success, with a strong team set to compete at District in several weeks. We were delighted to see a large turnout from our parent community, all eager to support our runners.

Big Freeze Fundraiser: A Cool Way to Fight MND!
Last week Hockey Victoria partnered with Knox Hockey Club to provide our school with hour long clinics as part of the Roadshow Program. These sessions allowed students to learn the basics of hockey in a fun and safe game-based environment.
Our Year 4-6 students participated in the Bayswater District Inter-school sports competition.
Our senior students headed to Gippsland for their biannual camping experience. Students worked through activities that supported collaboration and teamwork whilst also encouraging them to challenge themselves.

Science was on the tip of everyone’s tongue as we completed our annual explore, experiment and engage activities as part of Science Week.
Year 5 students ventured to Scoresby SC for the annual Discovery Day. Students engaged in design activities, home economics and other tasks throughout the day. It was great to see so many former CPS students throughtout the day.
Carrington again hosted a Be Fit. Be Well presenter, Casey Imeneo, to speak to our senior students. Casey is a highly talented sailor that competes across national and international competitions.
Our school community came together to celebrate Mother’s Day in a very special way.
We hosted a lovely Open Afternoon where mothers and special people were warmly welcomed into our classrooms to join in on fun and creative craft activities with their children.
What a wonderful time we had celebrating Momentous May at our school! One of the highlights was the costumes, where students came dressed as superheroes, storybook characters and animals! Even the teachers dressed to impress!
